Waking up and buying…

A book! I follow Kathy on Instagram and she encouraged me to buy her latest (not personally 😜). It really doesn’t take a lot, apparently.

To the collection it goes and one day I’ll read it πŸ˜‚

Audible Book Review – Victim Six by Gregg Olsen

This was my second Audible.comΒ book. The first I enjoyed immensely, so I had great expectations for this book.

51b1ue6eyqL._SL300_Β Unfortunately, for me, it was a bit of a let down. More so the deliverance of the book that the books content. The narrator for this particular book was too animated for my liking and it was distracting and took away from the books content. I don’t believe the narrator needs to put on voices that that in a child’s book to keep a reader’s attention. The first audible book I listened to did not do it, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. So for this reason, I find that I’m more inclined to urge potential readers to perhaps read the ebook or hardback copy rather than listening to it.

In saying that, there was two issues I had with the book. It was a little slow in some places, and I felt the transitions were used too often and could be confusing at times. However, I did enjoy the ending, and felt that the antagonist was a well written character.

I do look forward to reading more from this author, although I will be mindful to check who the narrator is on future audible books to ensure that I don’t get this one again. You may like him, but for me, not again.

Another author I just have to have…

So again, I’ve yet to read any of Chris’ books but I just had to make sure I got his last three to complete his lot so far!  He’s career and writing style is right up my alley.

So I purchased this lot

Waiting patiently for them to arrive so I know I’m ready to read them whenever I find the time! πŸ˜‚

I’m addicted to…

yes, I know I’m addicted to books 😜But I’m also addicted to Karin Slaughter, despite actually have not have read any of her books yet! I know, sounds a bit strange doesn’t it. But I’ve been eyeing her latest, Pretty Girls in the book store for the last few weeks, something holding me back from buying. Then last night I was in a Facebook book club group and someone had read pretty girls and there were people agreeing how awesome it was. So I went to bed last night, staring at the ceiling wishing the night would hurry up so I could go but it! And I did today πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ I won’t get to it for a while, but at least I have it. Phew…

What am I reading at the moment?

I’ve got two weeks until start of semester and I’m enjoying the break. Currently, I’m reading On the Farm by Stevie Cameron which is about Canadian serial killer Willie Pickton. It’s a big book, but I’m really enjoying it. Look forward to seeing my thoughts on it soon.

Happy reAding
